If you’ve never heard of SwagBucks, you ‘d be forgiven for that. I never heard of them until recently as it is.
What they are though, is a ‘search engine’ that uses other search engines and ads to earn money. When they make money though, they spread a little piece of it it on to you as “SwagBucks“.
The goal with the SwagBucks is to earn enough bucks over time to grab yourself something special. You can buy tracks on iTunes for only 15 SwagBucks each, and $5 Amazon.com Gift Cards for something like 145 SwagBucks.
That’s the cool part.
The not-so-cool part is that it takes awhile to earn the bucks. I’ve been a registered user of the site for about two weeks now, and have only earned about 30 SwagBucks. It looks like you earn the lion’s share of your bucks from referrals.
That’s right – most of your points will come from getting other users to sign up. Each person you sign up, you have the potential to share up to 100 of their points, meaning when they earn points for searching, so do you.
You can see how awesome this would be if you signed up 10 people, right? Let’s say you sign up those 10 people and they use the service primarily. If they earn 100 swagbucks within a month, you get 100 points per person to earn 100. So in a month’s time you’d have earned 1000 SwagBucks from them alone!
When the great prizes cost in the thousands of SwagBucks, that’s a pretty awesome deal right there. You could walk away with an etched iPod Shuffle right there, and never come back. Then again, you could wait another couple months using the same system and walk away with an iPhone…
Give it a try and let me know what you think! Can you become one of the SwagBuck Superstars?
We’ll see. I’ll be trying to in the meantime!
P.S. If you do end up signing up via my referral link, for a limited time, you can input the SwagCode “BirthdayBuck” and get a free SwagBuck!
Get it while it’s hot!
